Department 4E – Dairy Goats

  1. General Rules & Regulations

    1. All goats must be provided with a collar and be dehorned.

    2. All goats must have a legible tattoo.

    3. All dairy goats must be owned and registered in the name of the exhibitor by June 1st of the current year except goats in the Junior Kid Class which must have registration papers or certification that application has been made.

    4. All goats must be registered with approved goat association and all exhibitors must bring registration papers and present those papers for check-in prior to the show.

    5. Dairy goats must be purchased by the exhibitor before 2 years of age or first freshening, whichever comes first.  This also applies to exhibitors leasing dairy goats.

    6. All Does 2 years and older must be in milk.

    7. Two goats per breed per class may be entered.

    8. There will be a milking competition.  If competition occurs, ADGA Official Milking Competition Rules will be used.  Exhibitors will be limited to 2 entries.  Competition will involve 3 milkings and be scored on quantity of milk for a period of time since last kidding and for butterfat.  Schedule to be posted on Saturday of fair week as well as sign-up sheet.
