AG VENTURES AND BIRTHING CENTER OFFERS
LOTS OF ANIMALS AND ACT IVITIES.
There is
always something happening at the Ag Ventures and Birthing Center during the
Washington County Ag Expo and Fair. If not the birth of a baby animal, there
are children activities. There will be lambs, goats, a horse, rabbits, poultry,
dairy and beef calves. You may see chicks hatching or maybe a newborn calf.
There will be
an activity center for the children with different planned hands-on activities
and crafts scheduled for Saturday, July 19, through Thursday, July 24, from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m.
What’s inside
a cow? Walk through the replica of a cow and learn about its four stomachs and
the feed that it eats. Learn about the other parts of a cow and try your hand
at milking. Come and explore the bale maze for smaller children and the corn
maze for older youth and adults.
Saddles n’
Spurs 4-H Horse Club will be assisting in make and take horse related crafts.
There will be a corn box to play in and lots of coloring books, pencils and
stickers. Also, pedal tractor and stick horse courses will be set up for the
children to ride.
Day care
groups are welcome. If bringing a large group, please call ahead to make
reservations for crafts. For more information contact Betsy Herbst,
301-824-7455.
